Voyant Tools is a free, web-based text analysis environment built for humanities scholars who want to explore a corpus without writing code. Users paste text, upload files or point to a URL, and Voyant generates a linked set of visual and tabular tools: word-frequency lists, a word cloud (Cirrus), a keyword-in-context concordance, a trends graph showing term frequency across a corpus, and a document-reader pane, all updating together as the user filters or searches. It runs entirely in the browser (client-side JavaScript), so uploaded text is not sent to a server for storage, and it can also be self-hosted or embedded. It is maintained as an academic project rather than a commercial product, widely used in introductory digital humanities and text-mining teaching.
