Gephi is a free, open-source desktop application for visualizing and analyzing networks: nodes and edges representing anything from social relationships and citation networks to correspondence between historical figures or character interactions in literature. It provides interactive, force-directed layout algorithms, graph statistics (centrality, modularity, clustering), filtering and dynamic timeline views for networks that change over time, and can export high-quality static visualizations or interactive web exports. Digital humanities researchers use it heavily for corpus and archival network analysis alongside its original use cases in social network analysis and biology.
