nodegoat is a web-based platform, built by the Netherlands-based studio LAB1100, for structuring humanities and historical research data as a network of objects (people, places, events, sources) connected by relationships, each of which can carry time and geographic attributes. Rather than a fixed database schema, researchers define their own data model through the interface, then explore results through built-in network graphs, timelines and maps, which is aimed at projects tracing biographical, correspondence or trade networks across archival sources. It is delivered as software-as-a-service to universities, libraries and individual research projects, and LAB1100 also offers workshops and training.
