Trellis focuses specifically on state and local trial courts, the venues where the large majority of U.S. litigation actually happens but where docket data has traditionally been harder to aggregate than in the federal system. It scrapes and structures state court dockets to surface judge-level analytics, motion grant/deny rates, case timelines, and attorney and firm track records at the county and state-court level, complementing federal-court-focused tools such as Lex Machina and Westlaw Precision. Litigators use it to research a judge or opposing counsel before a state-court filing or hearing, and legal-ops teams use it for outside-counsel benchmarking in state litigation specifically. Its differentiation from Docket Alarm is depth of state-court analytics rather than breadth of document/PACER access.
