Megaphone is Spotify's enterprise-grade hosting and advertising platform for podcast networks and large publishers, distinct from the free creator-facing Spotify for Creators tool. It reports downloads, audience trends, and geographic and device data across every app and platform a show is distributed to, not just Spotify's own, and adds campaign-level ad performance, dynamic ad insertion reporting, and revenue analytics for publishers who sell inventory. Spotify withdrew Megaphone from IAB Tech Lab certification when it left the IAB in 2023 and has stated it is working toward recertification to the v2.2 guidelines, so its download counts currently carry no third-party seal. It suits established publishers and networks running host-read and programmatic advertising at scale, more than independent shows.
