Cloudflare Web Analytics is a free browser-side analytics feature built into Cloudflare's platform. It works two ways: on domains already proxied through Cloudflare it can be enabled automatically, injecting the tracking beacon with no code changes; on any other site (Cloudflare customer or not) it is added manually by pasting a JavaScript snippet before the closing body tag. It does not use client-side cookies or persistent identifiers, positioning itself as a privacy-first alternative to cookie-based analytics. Reporting is intentionally limited compared to full analytics suites: it surfaces pageviews, visits, top pages, referrers, countries, and page-load performance data, without the segmentation, funnels, or custom event tooling found in GA4, Matomo, or paid tools like Clicky. It is aimed at sites that want basic, no-cost traffic and performance visibility rather than deep behavioral analysis.
