Verdict

Funnel and Supermetrics both connect to hundreds of ad, analytics and CRM platforms and land the results in a spreadsheet, BI tool or warehouse rather than building their own dashboard. Where they differ is what happens to the data in between extraction and destination. Supermetrics is closer to a pure connector: it pulls the data and hands it off, leaving currency conversion, deduplication and cross-platform field mapping to whoever builds the report. Funnel puts a dedicated cleaning layer in the middle — automated currency conversion, cost allocation and a shared taxonomy that maps every platform's fields consistently — aimed at teams that need audit-ready numbers rather than a raw feed they still have to reconcile by hand.

That difference shows up in price and in how the tool is bought. Supermetrics has published, self-serve tiers starting around $55/month. Funnel is quote-only, generally implemented with more setup involvement, and priced for the data-quality work it's doing, not just the connector count.

Choose Funnel if

  • You need currency-normalized, deduplicated data that finance or leadership will treat as the source of truth.
  • Multiple teams currently get different numbers for the same metric because each one cleans the raw export differently.
  • You want lineage and anomaly flags on incoming feeds, not just a scheduled pull.

Choose Supermetrics if

  • You want self-serve pricing you can see and start on today, without a sales conversation.
  • One analyst or a small team owns the report and can catch and fix anomalies by eye.
  • You mainly need the data landed in a spreadsheet or Looker Studio dashboard, not a governed warehouse feed.

The honest caveat

Supermetrics is one of the oldest, most widely integrated tools in this category, which is also why it tends to be the pricier connector-only option even without Funnel's cleaning layer — check current tier pricing against your actual source and destination count rather than the headline number. If cost is the main driver and you don't yet have a data-quality problem, Windsor.ai covers similar ground to Supermetrics at a lower price point and is worth comparing before either. See choosing a marketing reporting tool for how the connector, pipeline and dashboard layers fit together.
