Insurance analytics · Verisk Analytics, Inc.
Verisk
Data and analytics provider supplying property, claims, underwriting and catastrophe risk datasets that insurers use to price and manage risk.
Verisk is principally a data business rather than a software company: its value is the proprietary claims, property and underwriting datasets it has aggregated across the P&C insurance industry over decades, most notably through ISO, its rating and rules-content subsidiary, and ISO ClaimSearch, a shared claims database used industry-wide for fraud and subrogation detection. Analytics and predictive scoring sit on top of that data to support underwriting triage, claims fraud detection and catastrophe exposure assessment. Insurers consume Verisk data through APIs and data feeds integrated into their own policy administration and claims systems (including Guidewire and Duck Creek) rather than through a standalone analytics workbench. This data-first model distinguishes it from Guidewire Predict, which is an analytics layer embedded in a specific core system.
