ProfitWell Metrics is a free SaaS analytics dashboard that connects to a billing or payment system — Stripe, Chargebee, Recurly or Braintree — and calculates MRR, churn, LTV and retention automatically, with no seat or usage fees for the metrics product itself. Paddle acquired ProfitWell in 2022 and kept the free metrics tool as a lead-generation product while folding its retention technology into Paddle Retain, a paid churn-reduction add-on. The metrics themselves still depend entirely on how the connected billing system structures subscription and invoice data, so a company running non-standard plan or discount structures may see different churn figures here than in a tool with different normalization rules. Paddle's own paid products sit around the free tier: Paddle Billing (a merchant-of-record platform that handles global tax, payments and subscription billing) and Paddle Retain (automated dunning and churn recovery).
