Opensignal measures real-world mobile and broadband network performance, speed, latency, coverage and video/gaming experience, using data crowdsourced from millions of consumers running its free coverage-mapping and speed-test apps, rather than lab tests or infrastructure instrumentation. That measurement data feeds enterprise products sold to mobile operators (network analytics via ONX Mobile/Broadband, subscriber impact analysis, brand-claim validation for marketing) and to regulators and financial analysts benchmarking operators against competitors. It positions itself as an independent third party that doesn't sell other services to the operators it measures, which is central to its credibility for public network-quality claims. Ookla's Speedtest Intelligence is its closest direct competitor, using the same crowdsourced-measurement model.
