Tapestry Segmentation

Esri's geodemographic system classifying U.S. neighborhoods into 60 lifestyle segments, delivered inside ArcGIS.

Tapestry Segmentation is Esri's geodemographic classification of every U.S. neighborhood into one of 60 market segments grouped under 12 broader LifeMode summary groups, based on demographic composition, socioeconomic status and consumer behavior. It also scores areas on three economic indexes (wealth, socioeconomic status and housing affordability relative to national norms) so users can compare an area's buying power to national benchmarks. Unlike a standalone product, Tapestry is delivered as data layered into Esri's ArcGIS ecosystem, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Business Analyst and ArcGIS Location Platform, so customers use it inside maps and site-selection workflows they are usually already running rather than through a separate application. It is aimed at retailers, real-estate and site-selection teams and marketers who want to characterize a trade area's population for expansion or targeting decisions.
