Catapult makes wearable tracking devices, worn between an athlete's shoulder blades in a fitted vest, that combine GPS positioning with inertial (accelerometer/gyroscope) sensors to record speed, distance, acceleration, collisions and workload during training and matches. That is the key distinction from optical or camera-based systems: Catapult's data comes directly from hardware carried by the athlete, so it works equally well at training grounds, remote fields or away venues without installed cameras. The accompanying software turns raw sensor data into load-management dashboards for sports scientists and coaches, with alerts for fatigue and injury-risk thresholds. Catapult also owns video analysis and recruiting products acquired over time. Customers are professional and elite amateur teams; pricing is quoted per hardware unit and software seat.
