AnyLogic
Discrete-event, agent-based and system-dynamics simulation software for modeling operational systems over time.
AnyLogic is a simulation tool, a different discipline from mathematical optimization: instead of computing a single optimal answer, it builds a dynamic model of a system — a warehouse, a hospital, a supply chain, a crowd — and runs it forward in simulated time so analysts can see how it behaves under different conditions, including variability and queuing effects that optimization models typically abstract away. It uniquely supports three modeling paradigms in one tool: discrete-event simulation, agent-based modeling, and system dynamics, and lets them be combined in a single model. Models are built visually with a Java-based scripting layer for custom logic, and can be exported as standalone applications or run in the cloud via AnyLogic Cloud. It is commercial software with a free, capability-limited Personal Learning Edition (PLE) for individual and academic learning.
