Truveta was founded and is collectively owned by a group of major U.S. health systems, which contribute de-identified electronic health record data, including clinical notes, labs and imaging metadata, into a shared dataset used for medical research. Its Truveta Studio product lets researchers, including pharmaceutical and academic teams, query this data to study disease progression, treatment effectiveness and safety signals across a large, multi-institution patient population, using natural-language processing to structure unstructured clinical notes. Because the data originates directly from contributing health systems' own EHRs rather than claims, it aims to capture more complete clinical detail than claims-only real-world-data vendors. Access is licensed to researchers and life-sciences companies; all data is de-identified before use, consistent with HIPAA's research-use provisions.
