StatsBomb collects and licenses football (soccer) data: shot-by-shot and pass-by-pass event data captured by trained human analysts watching broadcast video, extended by StatsBomb 360 freeze-frame data that adds full player-positioning context to every on-ball event. On top of the raw data it publishes derived metrics such as expected goals (xG) and possession value models, plus a video platform for coaches to review clips tied to the data. Customers are professional and national federation clubs, leagues, broadcasters and media companies rather than individual analysts, and most access is through data feeds, an API or the StatsBomb IQ scouting and recruitment platform. It does not use optical or wearable tracking; its differentiator is data depth and manual annotation quality rather than automated capture.
