Cloud data access governance platform built on Apache Ranger for unified policy enforcement across multi-cloud data stores.
Privacera extends Apache Ranger, the open-source access-policy engine originally built for Hadoop, into a unified control plane for modern cloud data platforms. It discovers and classifies sensitive data across warehouses, lakes and lakehouses, then applies a single set of access policies consistently whether a query runs through Snowflake, Databricks, Trino or a cloud object store, avoiding the need to configure permissions separately in each system. Dynamic masking and fine-grained row/column controls enforce those policies at query time, and audit logs support compliance reporting across the estate. A newer product line extends the same governance model to AI and LLM data access. Privacera is offered as a managed cloud service or self-hosted, and is typically adopted by organizations running genuinely multi-cloud or multi-engine data platforms rather than a single warehouse.
