NASA's free portal to its full Earth-observing satellite archive, spanning decades of imagery, climate and atmospheric data.
Earthdata is NASA's public access point for the data collected by its Earth Observing System Data and Information System (EOSDIS), covering satellite missions such as Landsat, MODIS, VIIRS, GPM and ICESat-2. Datasets range from daily global imagery at roughly 250m-1km resolution to monthly and annual climate products, and multi-decade archives for some sensors back to the 1970s and 1980s. Data is organized by Distributed Active Archive Centers by science discipline (atmosphere, ocean, land, cryosphere) and accessible through the Earthdata Search web interface, direct downloads and APIs, with cloud-hosted access via Amazon Web Services for many newer collections. Registration is free and required for downloads. It is the primary source researchers, agencies and companies use for satellite-based climate, land-use and disaster-monitoring analysis.
