Metabase is an open-source business intelligence tool for exploring data, building dashboards, and sharing self-service analytics. Its visual query builder lets non-technical users ask questions and build charts without writing SQL, while a SQL editor remains available for more complex analysis. Metabase connects to more than fifty data sources, including PostgreSQL, MySQL, Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, MongoDB, and Google Sheets, and includes an AI assistant, Metabot, for natural-language querying and SQL generation. The open-source edition can be self-hosted via Docker or run as a managed Metabase Cloud instance. Paid Starter, Pro, and Enterprise plans add embedding, row- and column-level permissions, single sign-on, and white-labeling for organizations that need governed, multi-tenant, or embedded analytics deployments.
