Firebolt

Cloud analytics database built for low-latency, high-concurrency queries with per-second usage billing.

Firebolt is a cloud-native analytics database that targets low-latency, high-concurrency SQL workloads, such as customer-facing dashboards and analytics embedded into applications, where response time under load matters as much as raw throughput. It separates storage on object storage from compute "engines" that scale independently and can auto-stop and auto-resume to avoid paying for idle capacity, with compute billed per second. Firebolt uses techniques such as sparse indexing and aggregating indexes to speed repeated query patterns without manual tuning. It is offered as a managed service and, more recently, an open-source engine that can also be self-hosted or run bring-your-own-cloud. It competes most directly with ClickHouse Cloud and StarRocks for teams that need sub-second response at high query concurrency rather than large ad hoc batch analytics.
