DNAnexus is a cloud platform built for genomics at population scale, best known as the operator behind the UK Biobank Research Analysis Platform and similar large biobank environments where compliance and access control matter as much as compute. It runs pipelines written in WDL, CWL or Nextflow, wraps them in an apps marketplace, and layers on audit trails, HIPAA and GxP-oriented controls that individual labs would otherwise have to build themselves. Pricing follows cloud usage plus platform fees, negotiated per organization rather than published, which reflects its enterprise and biobank customer base rather than individual researchers. It competes most directly with Seven Bridges (Velsera) for institutions moving genomic pipelines off local HPC and onto managed cloud infrastructure.
