Ansys is a large commercial suite of engineering simulation tools, sold as separate but interoperable products for structural mechanics (Mechanical), fluid dynamics (Fluent, CFX), electromagnetics (HFSS, Maxwell), semiconductor and photonics design, and systems-level simulation, used heavily in aerospace, automotive, electronics and industrial manufacturing. Ansys was acquired by Synopsys in 2024, combining simulation with chip-design tooling, though its individual products continue to operate under the Ansys brand. Licensing is sold per product module, on annual subscription or term licenses, negotiated directly with Ansys or its channel partners; the company does not publish list prices, since costs vary heavily by module combination, seat count and compute scale.
