Brand health
A composite view of how a brand is perceived and performing, combining awareness, sentiment, consideration, and loyalty metrics.
Brand health is a composite view of how a brand is perceived and performing with its audience, typically combining measures of awareness, sentiment, consideration, and loyalty into one tracked picture rather than relying on any single number.
It is usually assembled from a mix of sources: brand tracking surveys for awareness and consideration, net sentiment or social listening data for real-time perception, and share of voice relative to competitors, rather than calculated from a single formula the way narrower metrics are. This differs from a single-question measure like Net Promoter Score in that brand health deliberately blends several dimensions to give a fuller, if less precise, picture.
Marketing and communications teams track brand health over time to catch reputational shifts early, connect campaign activity to longer-term brand equity, and justify investment that would not show up in short-term conversion metrics. The main pitfall is that because brand health is a composite built from several inputs, it can mask which underlying dimension actually moved, a drop can come from falling awareness, worsening sentiment, or a competitor's rising share of voice, and each calls for a different response.
