Verdict

Oracle GoldenGate and Qlik Replicate are both mature, log-based replication engines built for enterprises moving data off legacy or mainframe systems with minimal impact on the source. Neither publishes prices; both are sold through a sales process metered by usage. The practical difference is ecosystem gravity. GoldenGate is deepest where the source or target is Oracle Database itself, supporting active-active replication for zero-downtime migrations and disaster recovery in addition to feeding analytics pipelines. Qlik Replicate is built to be agentless across a wider range of source databases and mainframe systems, with a GUI-driven setup that doesn't assume an Oracle-centric environment.

Choose Oracle GoldenGate if

  • Oracle Database is the source, the target, or both, and you want the vendor that knows that platform best.
  • You need active-active replication for zero-downtime database migration or disaster recovery, not just one-way analytics feeds.
  • You're already inside Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and want OCI GoldenGate as a managed, consumption-based service.

Choose Qlik Replicate if

  • Your sources span multiple database vendors or include mainframe systems, and you want one agentless tool across all of them.
  • You want GUI-driven task setup over hand-configuring replication logic.
  • You're already using or considering Qlik's broader Data Integration portfolio (it's sold alongside Talend under the same edition structure).

The honest caveat

Public pricing for both was not available at the time of writing — Oracle's OCI GoldenGate pricing page could not be verified, and Qlik Replicate is sold within Qlik's Data Integration editions metered by data volume and job executions. Budget for a sales-led evaluation with both vendors rather than expecting a self-serve trial, and get committed pricing in writing before comparing total cost, since list positioning alone doesn't tell you which will actually be cheaper for your specific database mix.
