Yellowfin is a general-purpose BI and embedded-analytics platform, owned by Idera since 2022, but its distinguishing feature for this category is Signals: an engine that continuously scans connected data for changes in total, average, trend direction, volatility and step shifts, without requiring anyone to configure a threshold first. When Signals detects a change, its Assisted Insights feature runs automated root-cause analysis to identify which underlying factors moved most and could explain it, and Correlated Signals surfaces other detected changes with a similar pattern, all delivered as natural-language alerts rather than a chart the user has to interpret unaided.
