Strava

Free social fitness app that reads activity data from any GPS watch or phone, with a paid subscription for deeper training analysis.

Strava is a device-agnostic activity-tracking and social fitness platform: it doesn't require its own hardware, instead pulling GPS and activity data from phones or any of dozens of supported watches and bike computers, including Garmin, Apple Watch, Wahoo, and Coros. The free tier covers activity recording, route maps, a segment-based leaderboard community, and basic history. A paid subscription unlocks advanced training analysis such as fitness and freshness trends, relative-effort scoring, heatmaps for route planning, and personalized training plans, and a further bundle adds Runna-branded coached training plans. Strava is cloud-hosted only, and its core value is the social and competitive layer (segments, kudos, clubs, challenges) layered on top of whatever device already captures the workout.
