SolarWinds Network Performance Monitor
SNMP-based device and link monitoring that maps network topology and alerts on device health and link performance.
NPM polls routers, switches and other network devices over SNMP to build topology maps, track link utilization and interface errors, and alert before a device or circuit fails. It is general device monitoring rather than outside-in synthetic testing (ThousandEyes, Catchpoint) or inside-network flow analytics (Kentik, ntopng) — its job is telling you the health of the boxes and links you already own. NetPath adds path-visualization for hybrid and cloud routes, and it integrates with SolarWinds' wider Orion platform (NetFlow Traffic Analyzer, User Device Tracker) for a fuller picture. It is typically deployed self-hosted on Windows, with a cloud-hosted option through SolarWinds Observability.
