Restor

Free open platform mapping ecosystem restoration and conservation sites worldwide with satellite-derived ecological data.

Restor is a free, open platform, originally incubated by the Crowther Lab at ETH Zurich with support from Google, that lets restoration and conservation projects register their sites on a public map and see satellite-derived context for that location: tree cover and biomass trends, biodiversity intactness, rainfall, soil and nearby protected areas. Site owners can log species planted, monitoring photos and progress over time, while funders, scientists and the public can browse projects by region or ecosystem type to compare potential and track outcomes. Restor draws on the same open Earth-observation datasets used by Global Forest Watch and similar tools, layered with project-level ground reporting, and is aimed at connecting restoration practitioners with funders and researchers rather than certifying carbon credits.
