Omni is a warehouse-native BI platform that tries to unify two workflows usually handled by separate products: governed, modeled BI and free-form self-service exploration. Data teams define a shared semantic layer of metrics and dimensions, while business users can explore that same governed data through ad hoc joins, calculated fields, pivots, and spreadsheet-like manipulation without breaking the underlying definitions -- changes made during exploration can optionally be promoted back into the shared model rather than forking into ungoverned one-off reports. Omni also exposes a SQL editor for users who prefer to query directly, and layers an AI assistant on top that is grounded in the semantic layer to keep generated answers consistent with defined metrics. It supports dashboards, embedded analytics, and live queries with caching against cloud warehouses, and is offered only as a hosted cloud service.
