Hexaly
Commercial solver (formerly LocalSolver) combining heuristic and exact methods for large combinatorial optimization problems.
Hexaly, previously known as LocalSolver, is a mathematical solver aimed at large combinatorial and mixed-integer nonlinear problems — routing, scheduling, packing and planning — where it blends local-search heuristics with exact mixed-integer methods to find good solutions fast on problems too large for a classical branch-and-bound solver alone. Models are written directly in Hexaly's own modeling language or through Python, Java, C++ and .NET APIs, then solved with the Hexaly Optimizer engine; the Hexaly Studio IDE and a cloud offering are sold alongside it. It targets the same class of users as Gurobi or CPLEX but positions itself on speed for very large, loosely structured problems rather than proof of optimality. Licensing is commercial with a free unlimited academic tier for students and universities.
