Google Cloud's Public Dataset Program hosts a large collection of free public datasets — government, census, geospatial, genomics, weather, GitHub activity and more — stored in BigQuery so they can be queried with standard SQL without downloading or hosting the data yourself. Google covers the storage cost of the datasets; the querying organization pays only standard BigQuery query pricing, with the first 1 TB of query processing per month free, so light usage can be effectively free. It is narrower than Analytics Hub (Google's broader, paid third-party data-exchange product) or the commercial marketplaces in this category: coverage is limited to what's been published into the program, there is no vendor billing relationship, and Google states there is no SLA for the program. It suits analysts wanting quick, no-cost access to well-known public reference datasets inside a BigQuery workflow.
