Babel Street sells a platform for open-source intelligence (OSINT) work: ingesting and analyzing text from the open web, social media and, where legally accessible, harder-to-reach sources, across many languages and scripts, then resolving names and identities that appear differently across those sources into a single entity. It is used for investigative and vetting work such as matching people or organizations against watchlists, screening vendors and supply chains for hidden ownership or foreign-influence risk, and surfacing early signals of threats from multilingual sources an English-only search would miss. Customers are primarily national-defense, law-enforcement and intelligence agencies, along with enterprises doing supply-chain and fraud risk screening. The platform is built with audit trails and access controls intended to support defensible, reviewable investigations rather than only raw search results.
