Cloudflare Bot Management and DataDome both score web, and in DataDome's case mobile and API, traffic in real time using machine learning, behavioral analysis and device fingerprinting to catch credential stuffing, scraping and scalping. The difference that matters most is architectural: Cloudflare's detection runs at the edge of a network you are presumably already using for CDN and WAF, adding no separate hop and inheriting Cloudflare's network-wide view of traffic patterns across its entire customer base. DataDome is a dedicated, vendor-agnostic bot and fraud platform that ships as modules for whichever CDN, reverse proxy, load balancer or mobile SDK you actually run, rather than being tied to one network provider.

That makes the choice largely about your existing infrastructure. If you're already on Cloudflare, Bot Management is a natural extension with no new vendor relationship or integration to build, and a lighter Bot Fight Mode even ships free on lower Cloudflare plans. If you are not on Cloudflare, or you run a multi-CDN or hybrid setup, DataDome's deployment flexibility avoids re-platforming just to get bot protection.

Choose Cloudflare Bot Management if

• Your infrastructure isn't Cloudflare, or you need protection that works consistently across multiple CDNs, load balancers and native mobile apps.
• You want dedicated mobile SDKs (iOS/Android) as a first-class part of the product rather than a secondary capability.
• You want a vendor whose core business is exclusively bot and fraud detection, with continuously retrained models as its main differentiator.

The honest caveat

Neither vendor publishes a comparable price list — Cloudflare's full Bot Management is an add-on to Enterprise plans quoted by custom agreement, and DataDome quotes based on monthly request volume and deployment channels.
